Eight-year-old Xiaoling from southern China’s Guangzi region was born with a rare disease of having excessive dark, coarse hair growth all over her body.
She knows her dark black hair from head to toe makes her stand out from other girls of her age. She cannot swim or wear shorts or dresses without being harassed.
She’s been medically diagnosed with Hypertrichosis or what’s known as Werewolf syndrome. Today, her family hopes to raise money to fund a laser treatments to cure her condition, as they say she’s teased and bullied for her abnormal hair growth.
Medical reports reveal Xiaoling’s condition is found around the world. Three of six Sangli sisters of India are afflicted with Hypertrichosis, which is often found to run in families.
